Early life and passion for dance
Sheena has been passionate about dance since the age of seven. She attended dance workshops during kindergarten and participated in various dance competitions during grade school. Sheena’s dedication to dance grew even stronger after she entered high school, where she joined a dance group that participated in various competitions. Despite her love for singing, Sheena focused more on dancing until she joined the Star Hunt Academy (SHA). Her early life was shaped by her single mother and older brother. Sadly, her mother passed away in 2020 during Sheena’s trainee days. She now lives with her grandparents and brother in the city of Santiago.
Admission to Star Hunt Academy
In 2018, Sheena auditioned for the Star Hunt auditions in Isabela. She initially aimed to be a part of ABS-CBN’s reality program Pinoy Big Brother, where she managed to become an official housemate. Her stint in Pinoy Big Brother opened the door for her to join the Star Hunt Academy in 2019. At SHA, Sheena’s singing and dancing skills were further honed under the guidance of Filipino Voice coaches Kitchie Molina and Anna Graham and dance coaches Mickey Perz and Matthew Almodovar.
Sheena also received training from MU Doctor’s Academy, where she learned Korean practices and discipline in singing and dancing. This intensive training helped her become a versatile artist.

As a trainee, Sheena participated in various public performances including ABS-CBN mall shows and events. She also performed at the 2019 National Youth Commission event FITFIL: Youth Against Drugs, where she was recognized as one of the youth ambassadors. Additionally, she also performed at the 2019 Manila Southeast Asian Games thanksgiving ceremony.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Sheena continued her training during the extended community quarantine. She and her fellow trainees were confined to Camp Star Hunt to ensure their safety. This period of isolation allowed them to focus on their training and bond as a group.
Becoming a member of BINI
On October 10, 2020, Sheena graduated from Star Hunt Academy as one of the final eight members of girl trainees. She was officially announced as a member of the idol group BINI. In November 2020, BINI released her pre-debut single “Da Coconut Nut”, marking the beginning of her journey in the music industry.
Following their pre-debut, Sheena and her fellow BINI members performed “Da Coconut Nut” and other song and dance covers on various ABS-CBN entertainment shows, including It’s Showtime, ASAP Natin ‘To, and Magandang Buhay. These performances helped them gain fame and build a fan base.
