Daymond Garfield John was born on February 23, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York.

John grew up in the Hollis neighborhood of Queens.

Daymond began working at the age of ten, distributing pamphlets at a New York school after his parents’ divorce.

While working at Red Lobster, Daymond started his own brand, FUBU, a men’s clothing brand; his mother taught him to sew and supported his entrepreneurial endeavors.
