Charles Edward “Chad” Hugo was born on February 24, 1974, in the South Hampton Roads city of Portsmouth, Virginia, to Filipino parents.

The two began working together, mixing beats and playing in various live bands.

Growing up, Chad Hugo began practicing music by recording mixtapes at home and playing the saxophone in his school band.
