John DeChambeau died in November 2022 at the age of 63. Although the cause of his death is not public, Bryson confirmed his father suffered from prolonged diabetes before his passing. John DeChambeau was diagnosed with diabetes in the 1990s, a condition that affected him deeply for nearly three decades.

What were John DeChambeau’s health struggles?
John DeChambeau’s health problems worsened when his kidneys failed about ten years ago. In 2017, he received a kidney from an old high school golf buddy, Ron Bancofier, after a fateful reunion. Prior to the kidney donation, John’s weight had increased by 35 pounds due to toxins and fluid retention as his peritoneal dialysis stopped working. He had to undergo repeated hemodialysis and also had to have his left leg amputated due to leg surgery.
